Dun Dun Dun!!! The Sea Wasp is such a cool name and the animal from this section was given that name for a serious reason. Meet Chironex fleckeri the world’s most deadly jellyfish! The Sea Wasp is a species of box jellyfish. Stings from this jellyfish have taken the lives of over 60 people. Chironex Fleckeri has gone down in the history books as having the worst sting from any Cnidarian, and records have shown it killing humans in under 3 minutes. Now, most people think of box jellyfish as tiny little guys, but this Sea Wasp has tentacles that can reach up to 10 feet in length! That is one huge jellyfish!
Now, depending on where you live, you may not need to worry about these powerful stingers, as they are found near New Guinea and Australia, and have been found as high up as the Philippines.
